Do go and see it back in its old position, but looking like it did when it was first installed in the village. A combination of Motivators, Restorers (Jamie Smith and Jamie French) and a secret Donor who paid for the authentic materials to refurbish it, has ensured it will continue to be with us for a long time. It is an important part of our history, responsible for all those communications we relied on; social, business and emergency in the days before every house had a landline or a mobile ‘phone.

We plan to slowly add inside information about the village itself, taking in the history of houses, people of note and everything that makes Brightling interesting and important to visitors and residents alike. If you have something you feel should be included, do let our Parish Council know.
