We’re excited to say Brightling Environment Group has lots of great events coming up in 2026 – the first on the list is at 7:00 pm on 26th February, in Brightling Village Hall.
It’s an exclusive talk from local AI specialist Olivier Wall. Olivier has been helping Kent Wildlife Trust develop the use of artificial intelligence to monitor and identify some of our most endangered local birds, amphibians and mammals—including nightingales and turtle doves.
Called “Counting on Nature: How AI Is Tracking Wildlife Populations and Helping Save Species”, Olivier’s talk will be a fascinating, eye-opening exploration of how artificial intelligence is changing the game in wildlife conservation. Looking at how smart tech helps scientists count animals, monitor ecosystems and protect endangered species, it should interest nature lovers and tech geeks alike.
The evening will begin with a short talk from Sue Blanch, project lead at Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT), followed by the presentation from Olivier. There’ll be plenty of chances to ask questions of both at the end, and we’ll be offering wine and soft drinks. Tickets are free, but places are limited; to book yours, follow the link below.
